What is a LumberDude?
The History Of "The LumberDude:
One of the most common comments we get is
"Hey Cool logo" or, "I absolutely LOVE the logo"
I wanted to share the history of "The Lumberdude" as I think he is quite literally the face of our brand.
In 2017, Two young (ok... not so young) bearded dudes started a beard oil company. You can read The origins of BeardSconsin, here.
Troy, realized, that we needed to have a logo, so he contacted friend and local rockstar artist Joe Till to see what his amazing brain could come up with.
I have to admit, when troy was first describing to me what he was envisioning for a logo, i thought he was completely crazy.(you should have seen HIS hand drawn prototype)
When Joe took that info, the wheels started turning, and what he submitted back to us, were absolutely amazing designs.
Actually, he sent us so many great proofs, we couldn't just settle with one. so we picked the two that called to us. Instant Milwaukee icons, and timeless classic designs.
Joe put the finishing touches on the masterpiece and that was that. Now we had this great logo, what do we call it?
So, we went to Social Media, Many names were thrown about, but the closest one that we ended up with was from our friend (and huge supporter) Andy Cebolski, he suggested "LumberMan" that fairly quickly evolved into LumberDude, and the legend was born.

I (Joe) have had an intense passion for design and illustration for years. Beyond that, I have always had a passion for success stories. I love stories of grit and determination—ones that pin a future hero against a wall. I am always inspired by the ways that people manage to overcome. Perhaps that's why I love working with the up and coming pro, or the seasoned vet. I knew I wanted to start my own brand with my own name, and do so targeting those living on the edge of their dream. I formed my own character, learned how to live according to my own plot, and studied how to help others do the same. Now, DBA Joe Till Studios, I have the chance to help incredible clients like Sprecher Brewing Co. unleash their new era of incredible packaging. I have the chance to help small businesses begin their first chapter. Nothing brings me greater joy than seeing people succeed as their true character.
